JSM Update - January

January has been a great month for JSM Engineering. Having come back from Christmas break on the 4th, we've picked up new contracts as well as working hard on existing contracts. Some of our employees have been for training - and passed their courses - and some have got milestone work anniversaries with JSM.

The new year has seen us hit the ground running with design work beginning on our new contract for Vinci Construction on their Perry Barr Regeneration scheme. The metalwork package that we are undertaking is a varied one and we will be providing balustrades to the concrete balconies, Juliet balconies and stair balustrades & handrails to name some of the items that we are involved with on this large contract. We are also working with Vinci at Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, a project which is for balustrades and is coming along nicely, as seen in the photo below.

Another one of our customers is Keepmoat. Their site at Waterside Leicester, where 300 new homes are being built, requires bolt-on balconies and Juliet balconies to be designed and manufactured off-site and installed. This is another new project for JSM, where design work is in it's final stages and we'll be progressing onto manufacturing shortly.

We're close to officially completing a project worth £1.1million at the Mount Anvil site of Keybridge House in London, where we've installed almost 200 bolt-on balconies that have been designed, manufactured off site and installed.

Closer to home, we've had IPAF, SMSTS and Environmental Awareness training courses this month. We are more than proud to confirm that all colleagues who attended these courses passed! The IPAF course is crucial as our site workers need to be able to manoeuvre and drive Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS). The Site Management Safety Training Scheme is a course providing companies with evidence of health and safety compliance. Site Environmental Awareness Training (SEAT) looks at the industry's impact on the environment and addresses the responsibilities we have to minimise that as much as possible.

A couple of our colleagues have had milestone anniversaries with JSM Engineering; our Assistant Accountant, Heidi, has been with us for 10 years, and our Operations Director, Mark, has completed 30 years of service this month. We'd like to thank them both for their work at JSM as they are both valued members of the team.

We're looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2021 brings us!
